This copper pendant was inspired by the New Zealand Christmas
tree, the Pohutukawa.
Pohutukawa grow best close to the sea where they often produce massive spreading trees that overhang the water. When in flower during December and January they provide a brilliant spectacle, smothered as they are with masses of crimson to brilliant-red flowers. In the fall, the leaves turn a brilliant coppery red and drop to the ground.
When copper is heated and then quickly quenched in water, it turns a beautiful red color, which reminds me of the pohutukawa leaf. It hangs from brown matte seed beads or sterling silver chain.
Please indicate length and material you desire for the neck chain.
The pendant you order will not be the exact same one, but a similar hand forged design.
